Job Summary

Plan and implement developmentally appropriate, engaging activities for youth ages 5-12 across five key program areas including healthy lifestyles, character, sports, academics, and the arts. Provide positive guidance, role modeling, and daily support while ensuring the physical and emotional safety of members through site supervision and positive behavior management. Monitor and evaluate programs to meet grant-funded outcomes and administer first aid as required. Work with youth in indoor and outdoor settings, occasionally supervising field trips, and maintain a sanitary, organized program space. This direct service position supports positive youth development within a licensed after-school environment, requiring flexibility for evenings, weekends, and occasional travel to off-site locations.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED/HSED
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Eligibility as a Caregiver by the Department of Children and Families 251
  • Successful completion of drug test, background check and physical examination
  • Ability to work with youth from ages 5-12
  • Strong verbal, written, and communication skills
  • Program Group Leader Certified within 3 months of accepting role (training provided)
  • CPR within 3 months of accepting role (training provided)
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and policy manuals
  • Ability to visually monitor the activities of club members
  • Ability to perform CPR or first aid
  • Ability to use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms
  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, jump, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds
  • Availability during operational hours to fulfill the essential duties of the role
  • Occasional travel to off-site Clubs, meetings, and events
  • Typical working hours - M, T, W, F between the hours of 2:00pm - 6:00pm
  • Thursdays are early release days

Desired Qualifications

  • At least 240 hours previous experience working with youth in a licensed childcare or comparable environment, preferred
