Youth Development Director - Durango Hills

Job Summary

Manage, direct, and coordinate Youth & Family programs at the branch level, including associated afterschool sites. Conduct program quality assessments, determine corrective actions, and establish new programs, activities, and revenue streams. Recruit, hire, train, and supervise full-time and part-time personnel while overseeing seasonal hiring for summer camps. Develop and control the budget, track financial goals, and ensure compliance with state regulations and YMCA program standards. Maintain proper records, facilitate audits, and serve as the primary point of contact for parent de-escalation and behavior modification. Establish relationships with community partners, schools, and parents while responding to abuse risk reports and following mandated reporting requirements. Work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, or weekends.

  • Experience with progressive disciplinary procedures
  • Experience with reports of suspicious and inappropriate behaviors
  • Experience with mandated reporting requirements
  • Experience with organizational commitment to protect consumers from abuse
  • Experience with reporting abuse risk management information to supervisor, executive director, or human resources
  • Experience with interviewing, hiring, training, and retaining employees
  • Experience with planning, assigning, and directing work
  • Experience with appraising performance
  • Experience with rewarding and coaching employees
  • Experience with addressing complaints, resolving problems and reporting observations
  • Experience with ensuring all programs are properly staffed, equipped and well informed
  • Experience with ensuring all assigned staff complete necessary paperwork
  • Experience with monitoring payroll
  • Experience with adhering to human resources responsibilities
