Job Summary
Supervises daily activities of residential youths, ensuring safety and adherence to cottage rules; may organize and participate in recreational activities; may assist with meals and housekeeping; documents activity in Cottage Log and prepares incident reports; requires knowledge of adolescent behavior, group leadership, disciplinary procedures, and the ability to earn the trust of children while following laws and regulations governing care and safety of children; requires availability for weekend/evening shifts and a NYS driver’s license; starting pay $18/hour with potential for higher rate based on experience.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid NYS driver’s license
- Experience in handling groups of children & teens, preferably in a residential setting
- Fluent English reading, writing, speaking, computer skills necessary to record observations and monitor reports
- Ability to participate in mandated initial TCI training during weekday evenings upon hire.
