Job Summary
Plan and implement a variety of sports and recreation programs for youth ages 6 to 18, including Triple Play, Play Ball, RBI, and ALL STARS. Recruit and retain members while coaching teams in BGCNF sports leagues. Ensure youth development principles are incorporated into all activities, providing guidance to maintain a safe, positive environment. Prepare weekly reports for the Program Director regarding attendance and upcoming events, and maintain a daily written schedule. Monitor program achievement against target goals and recommend modifications based on member needs. Participate in local, state, and regional competitions and may be required to drive the Club van. Work M–F between 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM, with possible evening or weekend hours.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Knowledge of youth development
- Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior issues
- Ability to work with the public
- Ability to plan and implement quality programs specific to Sport and Recreation
- Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment
- Ability to lift to 20 lbs. on occasion
- Ability to hear at a normal conversational level
- Ability to maintain a high energy level when necessary
- High degree of emotional intelligence
- Valid driver's license
- Three-year clean driving record
- Ability to pass DCF Level II background screening and drug test
