Job Summary
Youth Counselor provides crisis and ongoing support to youth in crisis and/or at risk of unsafe environments; Victim Services Advocate provides direct services to crime victims, including emergency needs, information and referral, counseling, accompaniment, and assistance navigating the criminal justice system; duties include safety planning, outreach to law enforcement and community partners, documentation and reporting, on-call availability, and collaboration to ensure comprehensive victim support.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in human services or related field
- Valid NY State Driver License and access to a reliable vehicle
- Experience in assessing victim safety
- Trauma-informed, client-centered approach
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trust with diverse backgrounds
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to multi-task and manage priorities
- Confidentiality with records
- Proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Office, and multiple online platforms
- Possession of a valid NYS Driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Willingness to work non-traditional hours (24/7 Emergency On-Call)
- Background checks may be required
