Job Summary
Coordinate and support the daily operation of the Youth Center drop-in program, planning and facilitating activities that support youth development, leadership, and social-emotional growth. Foster a safe, inclusive environment by building positive relationships with youth and families, serving as a role model and mentor while communicating program information and needs. Assist with community outreach to local schools and partners, representing the YMCA at events and promoting recruitment efforts. Maintain accurate attendance records, monitor program supplies, and document incidents according to child protection standards. Develop staff schedules, monitor accounts receivable, and attend required trainings and professional development opportunities. Work Monday through Friday from 11am to 5:30pm, adjusting staffing based on enrollment and school closures.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of one year of experience working with school-age youth in an after-school, recreation, camp, or youth development setting
- Ability to positively engage youth and build relationships with families and community partners
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Availability to work afternoons, evenings, and occasional weekends as needed
- Must pass CORI, SORI, and fingerprint background checks
- Completion of First Aid and CPR certifications within 30 days of hire
- Completion of required YMCA safety and child protection trainings within 30 days of hire
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's Degree or coursework in Education, Recreation, Human Services, or a related field
