Job Summary
Youth Caregiver provides daily care, safety, and welfare support for up to 12 youth in a therapeutic residential shelter. Responsibilities include adhering to program philosophy and home protocols, maintaining cleanliness and housekeeping, coaching youth in daily living skills, coordinating services with a treatment team, delivering trauma-informed care and de-escalation, supervising and documenting youth activities, facilitating developmentally appropriate recreational and educational activities, ensuring medication administration per procedures, and liaising with families and sponsors. Requires First Aid/CPR, a valid Florida driver’s license, ability to obtain background clearances, and flexible hours.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Minimum six (6) months experience working with children or individuals with autism, intellectual disabilities, or severe persistent mental illness
- First Aid and CPR certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
- Valid Florida driver’s license with no record of criminal driving offense and insurable under CHN’s auto insurance policy
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Successful completion and maintenance of FDLE clearance, federal background check and state criminal background check, and sexual predator screening
