Job Summary
Provide direct supervision of unaccompanied children while maintaining continuous line-of-sight during assigned shifts. Assist with valuables, clothing, laundry, and appointments, ensuring quality care and timely responses to needs. Oversee recreation, mealtime, and transitions between activities, adhering to all contract agency policies and safety standards. Report children's needs, activities, and time/location to the manager, and evacuate to accompany residents to different cities as required. Maintain a clean, secure environment by following medical standards and corporate safety policies, identifying close calls and safety concerns.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must be bilingual in English and Spanish
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or its equivalent
- At least 1 year's experience with children in child welfare, medical, or social service settings
- Valid Texas Driver's License
- Have a record of tuberculosis screening showing the employee is free of contagious TB
- Must be able to frequently maintain visual and auditory supervision of multiple children
- Must be able to make quick decisions
- Must be able to tolerate frustration
- Must be able to always balance mental toughness with compassion
- Must be able to multitask
- Must be able to function in a noisy environment
- Must be able to regularly exert up to 25 pounds of force
- Must be able to occasionally perform a restraint on youth weighing up to 200 lbs
