Job Summary
Youth Care Professional I provides trauma-informed, relationship-based support to residents, delivering mentoring, emotional support, life skills training, personal care, and supervision. Responsibilities include engaging youth and families in trust-based relationships, maintaining safety per program standards, coordinating after-school and weekend activities, transporting youth as needed, completing documentation in medical records and daily logs, applying crisis-prevention and intervention techniques (including Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and, if necessary, physical restraints), and building professional relationships to foster growth and positive outcomes. The role requires high school diploma or GED, CPR certification, and a NYS driver’s license; duties include evening and weekend work, and may involve variable scheduling and physical demands.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- CPR certification required or obtained within 60 days of hire
- Unrestricted, valid NYS driver’s license for minimum of 1 year with clean driving record and minimum insurance coverage that meets agency standards preferred
