Job Summary
Engage youth and families in trust-based relationships to support transitions, community interaction, and independence. Maintain vigilance and ratios to ensure resident safety while providing mentoring, emotional support, life skills training, and personal care. Execute after-school and weekend activities, accompany children on outings, and transport youth to appointments. Complete documentation in medical records and daily logs, and supervise residents using trauma-informed approaches. Respond to emergency situations and apply crisis prevention and intervention skills, including verbal de-escalation and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) approved physical restraints as needed. Work a variable schedule including evenings and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- CPR certification
- Unrestricted, valid NYS driver's license for minimum of 1 year with a clean driving record
- Minimum insurance coverage that meets agency standards
- Ability to recognize and address escalating and dysregulated youth behavior
- Utilization of training provided in behavior management and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) including the use of physical interventions (holds)
- Ability to change positions as needed
- Must be able to work a variable scheduling including evenings and weekends
- Weekly lifting up to 50 lbs.
- 10-15 lbs. on a daily basis

Desired Qualifications
