Job Summary
Engage youth and families in trust-based relationships to support transitions, community interaction, and independence. Maintain vigilance and ratios to ensure resident safety while executing after-school activities, outings, and appointments. Provide mentoring, emotional support, life skills training, and personal care. Complete medical record documentation and daily logs. Supervise residents using trauma-informed approaches and apply crisis prevention, de-escalation, and physical restraints as needed. Respond to emergency situations in compliance with regulatory reporting protocols. Work variable shifts including evenings and weekends at a rate between $18.50 and $24.00.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- CPR certification
- Unrestricted, valid NYS driver's license for minimum of 1 year with a clean driving record
- Minimum insurance coverage that meets agency standards
- Must be able to work a variable scheduling including evenings and weekends
- Ability to recognize and address escalating and dysregulated youth behavior
- Utilization of training provided in behavior management and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) including the use of physical interventions (holds)
- Must be able to physically restrain clients weighing between 50 lbs. and 300 lbs.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to carry up to 55 lbs.
- Manual dexterity including the frequent ability to grasp in both hands and continuous use of fine manipulation skills in both hands
- Ability to wear Close toed shoes
- Ability to wear Protective Shields
- Ability to wear Universal Precaution PPE
- Ability to wear Gloves for toileting and food preparation
- Ability to change positions as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Unrestricted, valid NYS driver's license for minimum of 1 year with a clean driving record and minimum insurance coverage that meets agency standards preferred
