Job Summary
Instruct high-quality sports and recreational programs in a safe, enjoyable environment promoting age-appropriate development, confidence, self-esteem, and wellness in accordance with YMCA policies. Responsibilities include planning and leading recreational activities, demonstrating techniques, managing participant behavior, maintaining a positive atmosphere, and ensuring safety. Required to maintain professional appearance, document attendance, and participate in trainings. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, one year of youth development experience, CPR/AED and First Aid certifications, and must be at least 18 years old.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- One year of youth development experience
- Prior experience participating in and/or leading group classes
- CPR/AED and First Aid certifications within the first 30 days of employment
- Child Abuse prevention training and DOJ/FBI criminal background check by hire date
- At least 18 years of age
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and other computer programs and office machines necessary to perform the duties of the job
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
