Job Summary
Youth Assistant at Rock Island YMCA's Kids Adventure Center delivers childcare for ages 6 weeks to 12 years, supervises and nurtures children, maintains safety and wellbeing, and communicates with parents. The role supports core values and developmental assets, stays alert and engaged, manages basic records (attendance, incident reports, confidential information), keeps facilities clean, and participates in trainings. Requires CPR/AED certification and related trainings; part-time with some Saturday mornings; duties include welcoming members, assisting children in developing social-emotional skills, and modeling care, honesty, respect, and responsibility to children, parents, and staff.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working with children ages infant to 10 years old
- CPR/AED Certification for infants, children, and adults
- Bloodborne Pathogen Training
- Child Sexual Abuse Prevention training
- Ability to communicate effectively to children, parents, and other staff
