Job Summary
Provide direct supervision, support, and encouragement to youth in a residential setting while maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive environment. Assist youth with daily living skills, homework, coping skills, behavior management, and service plan goals. Build positive relationships and serve as a role model, promoting healthy decision-making and independence. Support youth during challenging situations using appropriate de-escalation and behavioral interventions, and safely transport youth when required. Participate in development activities and complete documentation to communicate effectively with staff. This per diem role offers flexible scheduling for Bay State Community Services' Residential Services team, requiring certification in CPI physical interventions, de-escalation, CPR, and first aid.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Able to learn, carry out and be certified in CPI physical interventions, and de-escalation techniques
- Able to learn, carry out and be certified in CPR and first aid
- Safely transport youth when required; driving is an essential function of the position
Desired Qualifications
- 1 year experience working with adolescents
- Residential experience
- Experience with systems (e.g. DMH, DCF)
- Additional languages
