Job Summary
The Youth Advocate develops and facilitates the social and personal development of adolescents and teenagers. Responsibilities include arranging seminars and counseling sessions for youth groups and families on issues such as abuse, unemployment, intellectual disability, and medical care; liaising between youth and protective services, psychologists, and child care clinics; identifying behavioral or mental issues and determining remedial measures through psychiatric and medical examinations; assessing client home environments and personal characteristics; participating in mentoring activities and tracking progress toward goals; staying current with popular culture to guide youth appropriately; serving as a positive role model; and performing related duties as assigned. The role requires a High School diploma or equivalency, with bilingual abilities potentially needed based on client needs; preferred Bachelor’s degree. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8am–4pm, 35 hours per week; pay rate is $20.00 hourly. Equal Opportunity Employer committed to non-discrimination.
