Job Summary
Youth Advocate responsible for the ongoing care and supervision of residents ages 12-18 in a residential treatment facility. Responsibilities include helping adolescents learn basic activities of daily living, supporting clients with social interaction, educational and vocational advancement, fostering an emotionally supportive environment, mediating verbal disputes, role-modeling positive behavior, and assisting therapists in group or other treatment activities. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED (21+ years old required); enrollment in an Associate of Arts or Bachelor of Arts degree is preferred; experience with trauma or mental health in youth is a plus; strong communication and organizational skills; ability to remain calm under stress with provided training. Required Qualifications
- High school or GED
- Must be over 21 years of age
- Enrolled in an Associate of Arts or A Bachelor of Arts degree (Preferred)
- Prior experience working with Children ages 12-18 with Trauma, Mental Health or Psych is a plus
- Strong communication and organization skills
- Training is provided
