Job Summary
Develop and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum using the Delaware Early Learning Foundations while maintaining compliance with Delacare and Delaware Stars requirements. Lead activities promoting physical, mental, and social development through games, arts, music, storytelling, and field trips, adapting methods to meet children's varying needs. Conduct daily assessments to determine developmental levels and maintain accurate student records. Collaborate with families to establish individual learning goals and discuss progress, while identifying children showing signs of emotional or developmental concerns. Arrange indoor and outdoor spaces to facilitate creative play and motor-skill activities under the supervision of the Childcare Director.
Required Qualifications
- Early Childhood Administrative Certificate
- At least 18 years of age
- Experience working with children ages 3-5 years old
- High School Diploma
- TECE I or 6 college credits in ECE
- Must be able to lift, carry or otherwise move and position objects weighing up to 25 pounds
- Maintain a high energy level
- Be comfortable working with children ages 3-5 years old in varying levels of physical activity
- Regularly speak clearly and hear the spoken word
- Occasional statewide travel (e.g. training)
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree in a related field (i.e.: early childhood, psychology, social work, special education, elementary education, nursing, human services, business administration)
