Job Summary
Youth Academic Professional at Blue Door Academy site (Wilson Elementary, Wilson, WI). Responsibilities include planning, delivering, and evaluating structured afterschool enrichment activities for youth in grades 4K-5th, following BGCA’s program model and core elements. Requires engaging youth with high-quality instructional practices, building positive relationships, maintaining safe and organized spaces, following daily schedules, and documenting attendance and program activities. Must uphold professional standards, participate in onboarding and ongoing training, and ensure compliance with safety policies, regulatory clearances, and behavioral expectations. Strong communication, reliability, and ability to adapt activities to developmental needs are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with youth in an educational, recreational, or community-based setting is preferred.
- Experience facilitating structured activities or group programming is preferred.
- CPR/First Aid certification (required within 90 days of hire).
- Complete Mandated Reporter training upon hire.
- Wisconsin Childcare Registry/Certification classes and clearances within 90 days; Level 7 or above preferred.
- Background checks, fingerprinting, TB and physical tests, and any other regulatory clearances prior to being hired.
