Job Summary
Front-line program staff delivering structured afterschool enrichment for youth in grades 4K-5th at a Blue Door Academy site. Works up to 29 hours per week during a 9-month school year, planning and facilitating engaging activities aligned to the program model, delivering high-quality instructional experiences, and maintaining a safe, positive environment under the supervision of the Club Manager. Responsibilities include planning and delivering structured activities, applying Positive Youth Development principles, following the daily schedule, using BGCA resources and approved curricula, building authentic relationships with youth and families, maintaining supervision and safety protocols, documenting attendance and locations, adhering to program policies, onboarding and completing ongoing professional development, and maintaining professional standards. Required education is a high school diploma or equivalent; required certifications/clearances include background checks, TB and physical tests, CPR/First Aid within 90 days, Mandated Reporter training, Wisconsin Childcare Registry classes/clearances within 90 days, with Level 7+ preferred. Skills include strong communication, relationship-building, ability to follow structured plans, reliability, punctuality, cultural competence, and commitment to equity and belonging.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of all required background checks, fingerprinting, TB and physical tests, as well as any other regulatory clearances prior to being hired
- CPR/First Aid certification (required within 90 days of hire)
- Complete Mandated Reporter training upon hire
- Within 90 days, completion of Wisconsin Childcare Registry/Certification classes and clearances
- Wisconsin Childcare Registry Level 7 or above preferred
