Job Summary
Youth Academic Professional delivers structured afterschool enrichment to 4K–5th-grade youth at a Blue Door Academy site. Responsibilities include planning and facilitating activities aligned to the program model, delivering high-quality programming with engagement and positive youth development principles, following the daily schedule, using BGCA and site curricula, and maintaining a safe, organized program space. Build authentic relationships with youth and families, monitor behavior and developmental needs, escalate concerns to the Club Manager, and participate in onboarding and ongoing professional development. Requires high school diploma or equivalent and completion of required background checks and certifications; 15-hour onboarding before engagement and 20 hours of ongoing learning; strong communication, reliability, punctuality, cultural competence, and commitment to equity and belonging.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience: Minimum 1 year working with youth preferred; experience facilitating structured activities preferred
- Certifications: CPR/First Aid within 90 days; Mandated Reporter training; Wisconsin Childcare Registry/classifications; background checks; TB and physical tests as required
