Job Summary
Youth Academic Professional will plan and facilitate structured afterschool enrichment sessions for youth in grades 4K-5th at a Blue Door Academy site, delivering engaging activities aligned to BGCA core program areas, using BGCA’s Five Key Elements of Positive Youth Development, and maintaining safety and high-quality learning environments under the supervision of the Club Manager.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with youth in an educational, recreational, or community-based setting (preferred)
- Experience facilitating structured activities or group programming (preferred)
- Prior experience with Boys & Girls Clubs of America or a comparable youth-serving organization (preferred)
- Successful completion of required background checks, fingerprinting, TB and physical tests, and other regulatory clearances prior to hire
- CPR/First Aid certification (required within 90 days of hire)
- Complete Mandated Reporter training upon hire
- Wisconsin Childcare Registry/Certification classes and clearances within 90 days
- Wisconsin Childcare Registry Level 7 or above preferred
- Ability to build positive relationships with youth, families, and colleagues
- Strong communication skills for various ages
- Ability to follow structured program plans and adapt activities in real time
- Reliability, punctuality, and accountability
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and belonging
- Physical ability to stand, move, and engage with youth; lift up to 25 lbs.
