Young Person Operational, Work Experience Placement - Derby, 13th-16th July 2026

4-day work experience placement for young people aged 14–18 at Severn Trent in Derby. Shadow a site operator at a sewage treatment works to learn how wastewater is treated, monitor operations, and understand health and safety. Develop communication, teamwork, creative problem solving, self-management, and confidence through hands-on activities and observing maintenance and performance monitoring. Learn how teams collaborate to keep essential services running and gain insight into different operational career paths within Severn Trent. Consent to participate in a research trial will be requested as part of the application.
