Job Summary
Hands-on work experience placement in Severn Trent's pump workshop for four days in Coventry. Participants will observe and learn how water pumps are inspected, maintained, and repaired, watch safety procedures and PPE usage, and see how operational teams keep services running. The placement emphasizes practical skills, teamwork, communication, problem solving, self-management, confidence, and career exploration, with mentorship from experienced team members. Additional context includes participation in a research trial conducted with Ipsos and the Youth Futures Foundation, and the need for parental consent if under 16.
