Job Summary
Conduct targeted prospect calls to develop new and existing business growth within the PNW territory. Lead, coach, and mentor farm managers to increase feed sales for Land O'Lakes, Calva, and Purina programs, focusing on livestock, lifestyle, additives, and milk replacer categories. Execute sales strategies to meet or exceed budget expectations while managing expenses and developing team skillsets for changing marketplace demands. Build strategic relationships with key account leadership and support on-farm activities to enable high performance. Requires 2-3 years of sales experience, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and willingness to travel 25-40% including nights and weekends. Base salary ranges from $81,200 to $121,800.
Required Qualifications
- 2-3 years successful sales and/or nutritional experience influencing individuals through knowledge
- Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams
- Strong general management skills including ability to resolve issues quickly and effectively, analytical and strategic thinking
- Successful budget management, including Expenses and Sales Productivity
- Solid understanding of animal husbandry, current management practices, and nutritional guidelines
- Communication skills: written and oral, including strategy presentations to staff at all levels
- Creative thinker: possess the ability to develop and create new ideas, systems, and relationships for the success of the company
- Planning skills: must have the ability to develop specific plans and goals to help in accomplishing tasks effectively and efficiently
- Relationship skills: ability to create and maintain positive relationships with current and prospective owners and partners
- Proven ability to interact well with customers, suppliers, employees, and management at all levels
- Ability to effectively lead and manage through change
- Proficient in Microsoft office applications, including virtual tools
- Overnight Travel: 25-40%
- Willing and able to do extensive travel, including some nights and weekends
- Must be self-motivated/self-starter
- Bi-Lingual (Spanish)
- Ability to execute on-farm activities, and classroom training
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Ag or related business field (ex. Animal Science/Nutrition, Ag Business, Ag Education)
- General knowledge of dairy and dairy x beef industry as well as calf care
