Job Summary
Conduct research on India's defense, foreign policies, and strategic partnerships with a focus on China, Pakistan, and military modernization. Assist Carnegie India scholars on ongoing projects, background research, and event organization for the Global Technology Summit and security dialogues. Support verticals across program, development, and communication teams while observing research-driven policymaking through a multidisciplinary lens. Engage with a diverse cohort of young leaders in New Delhi and the global Carnegie network to develop leadership and analytical skills. Work full-time at the New Delhi office as part of a one-year program running from September 2026 to September 2027.
Required Qualifications
- Recent graduate in any discipline
- Interest in at least one of the following areas of research: defense or security studies, international relations, foreign policy, strategic studies, or related fields
- Ability to conduct research on a variety of issues: India's defense and foreign policies with a special emphasis on India's relationship with China, developments along India's borders with Pakistan and China, India's military modernization and transformation, India's evolving strategic partnerships, and related research
- In-person program participation
- Full-time work at the New Delhi office
