Job Summary
Instruct scheduled yoga classes to the public in a fun and engaging manner at the Silverthorne Recreation Center while maintaining safety and monitoring participants for appropriate fitness levels. Teach a minimum of one class per week, primarily in the morning, evening, and on Saturdays. Maintain CPR/AED certification within six months of hire and demonstrate effective verbal communication in both individual and group settings. Effectively demonstrate yoga asanas (postures) to others. This role supports the Town of Silverthorne's wellness initiatives for the community.
Required Qualifications
- Nationally recognized Yoga certification or equivalent training
- CPR/AED certification upon 6 months of hire
- Yoga training or certifications, if applicable
- minimum of one year of yoga class teaching experience
- CPR / First Aid training, or the ability to obtain this within 3 months
- the ability to communicate effectively verbally in English in both individual and group settings
- the ability to effectively demonstrate yoga asanas (postures) to others
Desired Qualifications
- 2-3 years of work experience in the area of yoga instructor
- Degree as it relates to health/fitness/nutrition
