Job Summary
As a Group Exercise Instructor at the Y in Central Maryland, you will provide quality instruction and supervision to members by teaching safe and challenging classes that promote total fitness development. This role requires an accredited group exercise certification and the ability to communicate effectively with members. You will create a welcoming atmosphere that encourages group interaction and exercise, contributing to the overall health and well-being of the community.
Required Qualifications
- A nationally recognized accredited group exercise certification required (ACE, ACSM, AFAA, NETA preferred) or standalone or specialty certification (Les Mills, Zumba, etc.)
Desired Qualifications
- A love of fitness and people
- A desire to help & encourage others to have fun with fitness
- The ability to clearly communicate and effectively listen to children, parents/guardians, members, and other Y associates
Additional Requirements
- All Y associates agree to abide by The Code of Conduct with Youth
- Associates must complete training on child abuse prevention and comply with legal reporting requirements to safeguard youth
