Job Summary
The Yoga Instructor is responsible for providing yoga classes to members of all fitness levels, ensuring engaging instruction and personal attention. Essential functions include teaching classes, assisting in program design, maintaining cleanliness of facilities, and promoting safe use of equipment. Instructors must hold specialized yoga certifications, be CPR/AED certified, and be able to relate effectively to diverse populations.
Required Qualifications
- Specialized certification(s) in yoga teaching from accredited organizations
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications
- Completion of YMCA safety certifications within 60 days of hire
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse people
- At least 18 years of age
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with diverse populations
- Ability to teach gentle, yin, or restorative classes
Additional Requirements
- Must occasionally lift up to 30 lbs
- Must be able to adjust teaching for an older population
