Job Summary
Maintain visual and auditory supervision at all times while ensuring the safety and well-being of each child under your care. Plan and supervise activities for the children, playing and interacting with them to foster a creative and playful atmosphere. Change diapers when necessary and engage in games and sports with the group. This role supports the YMCA Reston Child Watch Program, offering Saturday and Sunday shifts from 8:00am to 12:00pm with an hourly wage of $13.00. Candidates must be at least 18 years old, have a clear criminal background check, and possess the physical ability to lift 35 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Clear the local jurisdiction requirements for criminal background and/or fingerprinting
- Must be able to effectively communicate with children and parents
- Must understand and be committed to working with diverse population and to YMCA character development
- Must be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time
- Must be physically active to play games and sports with the children
- Must be able to pick-up at least 35 pounds
- Must have visual acuity to observe all children
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in childwatch preferred
