Job Summary
Plan and execute member appreciation events while representing the YMCA at community gatherings. Contribute ideas for membership retention strategies, partnerships, and lead outreach. Create social media content by capturing and editing photos and videos for Instagram and Facebook. Collaborate with the Intern Advisory Committee and supervisor to shape the internship experience aligned with engagement goals. Track hours and accomplishments for YMCA records and academic requirements. Maintain confidentiality regarding member data and complete required training within 30 days. Work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all socio-economic segments of the community.
- The ability to adapt to change quickly and handle multiple tasks under limited supervision.
- Flexibility to work a variety of hours including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- Successful completion of background screening.
- In-person First Aid/CPR/AED certification (valid 2 years unless otherwise noted) via YMCA, American Red Cross, American Heart Association or American Health and Safety Institute.
- Ability to work with technology such as computers, computer software, tablets, etc.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to walk, stoop, kneel, push, pull, climb, and lift/carry a maximum of 50 pounds.
- Ability to respond to emergency situations quickly and effectively.
- Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to member needs.
