Job Summary
Ensure safety in and around the pool area by responding appropriately to emergencies and maintaining a clean, safe environment. Communicate effectively with parents, participants, and members while teaching swimmers how to be safe and confident in the water. Lead the team to create a positive aquatics atmosphere for all pool users. Part-time shifts available Monday through Sunday, including early morning and weekend hours. Weekend shifts earn $1 more per hour. Candidates must hold current Red Cross Lifeguard Certification and demonstrate physical and mental readiness per YMCA standards. This role offers a free YMCA membership and free certification classes upon completion.
Required Qualifications
- Current Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
- Lifeguard experience
- Ability to maintain certification-level of physical and mental readiness
- Demonstration of lifeguard skills in accordance with YMCA standards
- Age 15 and older
Desired Qualifications
- Lifeguard experience preferred
