Job Summary
Open and close the Child Watch room as scheduled while ensuring the safety, well-being, and supervision of all children. Maintain awareness of first aid kits and OSHA equipment, enforce safety rules and the no-food policy, and respond appropriately to accidents or emergencies by completing required reports. Clean and sanitize toys daily, change crib sheets and diapers as needed, and ensure parents sign children in and out. Engage children through age-appropriate play and greet families professionally while wearing a name tag. This role requires current CPR and First Aid certification, a current physical exam, and a clean background check. Full-time and part-time positions are available for individuals passionate about creating a safe environment for families at the YMCA Bethesda-Chevy Chase.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- Documentation of a current physical examination and TB skin test
- Must successfully pass all required criminal background checks and fingerprinting as required by the local jurisdiction
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with children in a childcare, camp, school, or recreational setting is preferred
