Job Summary
Join the YMCA as a Junior Camp Counselor for summer camp programs from June to August. As a Junior Camp Counselor, you will help campers have fun and build relationships, assist counselors in leading activities, and ensure a safe and engaging environment. Responsibilities include guiding campers, leading activities like music and games, and participating in staff meetings and training. Candidates must be at least 16 years old, obtain CPR and First Aid certification, and meet local licensing requirements. Physical fitness is necessary for engaging with children and managing activities.
Required Qualifications
- 16 years of age
- Willing to participate in and obtain CPR and First Aid Certification
- Clear the local jurisdiction requirements for criminal background and/or fingerprinting
- Meet the county/state licensing requirements
- Skilled in teaching a variety of crafts, songs, stories, games, sports, aquatics and related camp activities
- Able to effectively communicate with children and parents
- Documentation of physical examination and TB skin test
