Job Summary
This seasonal role for an Assistant Camp Director involves ensuring campers have a fun, enriching, and safe experience, planning and implementing the Y camp program, mentoring staff, and maintaining camper safety. Candidates must be high school graduates, at least 21 years old, and have at least two summers of relevant experience. The position requires physical activity and effective communication skills, as well as a commitment to diversity and Y character development.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate
- 21 years of age
- Willing to participate in and obtain CPR and First Aid Certification
- Clear the local jurisdiction requirements for criminal background and/or fingerprinting
- Meet the county/state licensing requirements
- At least two summers of experience in day camp, recreation, physical education, teaching, or working with school age children
- Prior experience assisting supervising staff
- Work well with and in groups
- Able to effectively communicate with children and parents
- Understand and be committed to working with diverse population and to Y character development
