Job Summary
Plan, supervise, and implement high-yield health and life skills programs for youth ages 6 to 18, including Cybersafety, Date SMART, and SMART Moves initiatives. Recruit and retain members while providing guidance to ensure a safe, positive environment and enforcing youth development principles. Track student data for grant reporting, maintain program equipment inventories, and prepare weekly activity reports for the Program Director. Monitor program quality against target goals, organize field trips and guest speakers, and participate in regional club competitions. Work M–F between 2PM and 7PM, with potential evening, weekend, and driving duties.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Knowledge of youth development
- Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior issues
- Ability to work with the public
- Ability to plan and implement quality programs specific to Health & Wellness
- Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment
- Ability to pass DCF Level II background screening and drug test
- Valid driver's license
- Three-year clean driving record
- Ability to sit, stand and walk for long periods of time
- Ability to lift to 20 lbs. on occasion
- Ability to hear at a normal conversational level
- Ability to maintain high energy level when necessary
- High degree of emotional intelligence
- Ability to pass Level 2 background screening through the Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse
