Job Summary
Plan and implement art programs for youth ages 6 to 18, including photography, drama, music, and media making, while recruiting and retaining members. Guide youth in a safe, positive environment through role modeling and behavior management, ensuring culturally diverse and age-appropriate activities. Coordinate with staff to organize field trips, guest speakers, and new initiatives, while monitoring program quality against target goals. Prepare weekly reports on attendance and activities, maintain program equipment inventories, and uphold safety standards during M–F shifts from 2PM to 7PM. Drive the Club van as needed with a valid license and clean record.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Knowledge of youth development
- Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior issues
- Ability to work with the public
- Ability to plan and implement quality programs specific The Arts
- Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment
- Ability to lift to 20 lbs. on occasion
- Ability to hear at a normal conversational level
- High degree of emotional intelligence
- Valid driver's license
- Three-year clean driving record
- Ability to pass DCF Level II background screening
- Ability to pass drug test
- Ability to sit, stand and walk for long periods of time
- Ability to bend and squat on occasion
- Ability to maintain high energy level when necessary
- Ability to work evenings and weekends when necessary
- Ability to work longer hours outside of the standard schedule
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors
