Job Summary
The YMCA of South Florida seeks a Certified Teacher for its Special Needs program, responsible for day-to-day academic programming and supervision of 15-20 children, ensuring adherence to state and YMCA childcare policies. The role involves lesson planning, progress tracking, safety inspections, documentation of incidents, and maintaining child/staff ratios. Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree and valid Florida Teaching Certificate, with one to three years of relevant experience, and a commitment to child abuse reporting regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Florida Teaching Certificate
- Experience in a licensed childcare/day camp facility or educational institution with direct contact with children
- Completion of First Aid and CPR training within ninety days of hire
- Ability to relate to and support children according to YMCA values
Additional Requirements
- Must be at least twenty-one (21) years-old at the time of hire
- Cleared thorough Level II fingerprinting background screening as a condition of employment
- Must successfully complete a drug test; Medical Marijuana cards do not exempt from passing drug test
