Job Summary
Youth Worker II at YCIC/HCNCHC Youth Crisis Intervention Center in Winnebago, NE. Provides a safe, secure environment for juveniles and assists with their behavioral, emotional, medical, and programming needs. Works with parents/guardians, caseworkers, attorneys, social workers, intake staff, and other agencies to understand facility procedures; applies Trauma-Informed Care principles; conducts intake/orientation for youths and families; supports confidentiality and boundary standards; flexible shifts (including weekends/holidays) in a 24/7 facility; training in Handle with Care and ongoing professional development; physical and mental resilience to manage youth in crisis; performs duties as part of a multidisciplinary team to promote youth safety and well-being.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED with two years of college or one year of demonstrated experience working with at-risk youth or a combination thereof
- Must be 21 years of age
- Ability to handle situations with tact and ethical judgments
- Ability to train and participate in Handle with Care behavior management training
- Must be able to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays
- Must read, write, and speak English fluently
- Trauma-informed mindset and crisis de-escalation skills
- Capacity to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical duties as needed
- Possession of or ability to obtain necessary clearances and training requirements
