Job Summary
Lead the day-to-day operation of the YBASE Program for children ages 4-14 by actively supervising groups indoors and outdoors, planning curriculum, and managing interest centers. Coordinate transitions between school day and parent pickup, ensuring accurate sign-in/out records and handling transportation duties with proper logs if assigned. Maintain daily attendance reports, supply orders, and staff files including immunization records, while performing general housekeeping and sanitizing to meet health standards. Distribute meals according to regulations, conduct program feedback initiatives, and ensure compliance with Quality Rated practices and state licensing ratios. Report child abuse suspicions as a Mandated Reporter and uphold YMCA standards of professionalism and character.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Intermediate understanding of current child development principles and appropriate developmental practice
- Experience in working with school age children
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and fingerprint check in accordance with Bright from the Start Licensing requirements
- Intermediate understanding of computer technology and ability to learn new systems
- CPR and First Aid required within 90 days of employment
- 18 Bright From the Start approved training hours trainings per year must be achieved and maintained
- If assigned to transportation responsibilities, maintain the state required transportation safety training
- Childcare Development Associates (CDA), Technical College Certificate (TCC) in early childhood education or related field, or Bachelor Degree. Qualifying experience can be substituted in lieu of a degree
