Job Summary
Overnight Counselor for Young Adult Shelter in Olympia, WA: provide a safe, supportive environment and crisis intervention for youth aged 18-21 during three 12-hour overnight shifts per week (8:45 PM start; shelter hours 9:00 PM–8:30 AM). Responsibilities include environment management, program oversight (rules enforcement, safety decisions including evictions/Law Enforcement contact if needed), transition coordination, thorough documentation of interactions, participant care (evening snacks, attendance, ID/behavior tracking), and maintaining safety and stability through crisis intervention. Requires at least two years of direct experience or related education in social sciences and values lived experience that informs empathy and understanding; candidate must carry a cell phone during working hours.
