Job Summary
Receive incoming products, count and record receipt of materials, and stock all items in appropriate bins or storage locations. Operate a forklift with foot and hand controls to build outgoing orders or load completed orders onto delivery equipment. Maintain an organized work environment by assisting associates in keeping bays and staging areas clean, emptying trash, and performing inventory counts. Monitor inventory as required and adhere to established safety procedures while completing assigned trainings. This entry-level role supports Zeeland Lumber & Supply's distribution of lumber, windows, doors, and specialty building materials across Michigan.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to do basic math
- Ability to read orders
- Ability to write instructions and complete forms
- Ability/willingness to learn to read a tape measure
- Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with customers, other employees and supervisors using verbal and written skills
- Ability to deal constructively with conflict and recognize potential problems
- Proficiency with or ability to learn current technologies (e.g. Smartphone, Inventory Control Systems, and other necessary business applications)
- Must be able to operate a forklift safely
- Must be able to operate facility equipment as necessary (e.g. bander, power tools, various hand tools)
- Must be able to count and record receipt of materials
- Must be able to stock all material received in appropriate bins or storage locations
- Must be able to monitor inventory as required by location management
- Must be able to produce error free and damage free results
- Must be able to comply with all policies and standards
- Must be able to adhere to Company's commitment to workplace safety
- Must be able to participate in and complete assigned trainings
