Job Summary
Yard & Warehouse Operative at RGB Bodmin with responsibility for receiving, unloading, storing, and dispatching goods; picking and preparing orders; loading delivery vehicles and assisting customer collections; supporting the trade counter and helping customers with enquiries; maintaining a safe, clean, and organised yard/warehouse; performing stock counts and reporting discrepancies; and collaborating with the team to keep operations running smoothly. The role requires experience in a builders’ merchant or warehouse (preferred), forklift licence is desirable (training may be available), strong customer service, physical fitness for outdoor/manual work, reliability, organisation, attention to detail, and teamwork. Hours follow a rotating weekly schedule (Mon–Fri with alternating Saturdays).
Required Qualifications
- Experience in a builders’ merchant or warehouse (preferred)
- Forklift licence (desirable)
- Strong customer service skills
- Physically fit (manual handling & outdoor work)
- Reliable, organised, and a team player
- Good attention to detail
