Job Summary
Move trailers around the yard and into/out of docks, following customer directions for trailer placement. Responsibilities include verifying seals, performing yard/load status checks, conducting trailer safety checks, and maintaining a preventive maintenance schedule for equipment. Reliable attendance, working scheduled shifts including weekends and occasional overtime is necessary. The job requires physical activity including lifting, walking, bending, and responding to sounds in a moderate to loud environment.
Required Qualifications
- Current driver’s license
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable working in all weather conditions
- Must follow all applicable traffic laws and facility rules
- Ability to speak, read, and write English for effective communication
Desired Qualifications
- Previous yard switcher experience preferred but not required
- Good communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Basic math skills
