Job Summary
Operate yard trucks to move trailers and containers within the facility, conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, coordinate with warehouse staff for accurate placement and retrieval, maintain an organized yard, assist with loading/unloading, keep detailed movement records for inventory, and follow safety protocols. Maintain yard cleanliness, report maintenance needs, and participate in ongoing training to enhance yard-truck operations and safety procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in truck driving or a similar role
- Proven experience operating yard trucks or similar heavy equipment
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures in a yard environment
- Ability to maneuver trucks in tight spaces and handle various types of trailers
- Proficient in basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting
- Excellent communication skills for effective coordination with team members and supervisors
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate record-keeping and documentation
