Yard Trainer (Class A CDL Required)

Job Summary
Oversee driver processes from orientation through yard training and placement with road trainers. Deliver cohesive presentations covering core operational policies, safety values, and defensive driving. Conduct hands-on training activities for newly hired first-time truck drivers, including map reading, trip planning, backing maneuvers, and Smith System safe work practices. Evaluate trainees for upgrades and monitor performance via observations. Communicate safety principles and accident avoidance strategies to drivers in both the workplace and over the road. Maintain professional communication with Ops managers regarding driver progress.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Thorough knowledge of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety and Car Hauling Regulations
- 2+ years of Class A CDL experience
- Class A CDL
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to effectively interact with all levels of management and experienced drivers
