Job Summary
Yard Technicians at Herc Rentals are responsible for keeping our facilities looking clean and professional by maintaining the cleanliness of our equipment and keeping everything organized and easily accessible. This role serves as a springboard to other opportunities within Herc Rentals, including Driver, Mechanic, ProSales Associate, and Sales and Operations Coordinator roles. Responsibilities include loading and unloading equipment for internal truck drivers, outside haulers, and customers; verifying delivery tickets; cleaning, maintaining, and organizing heavy equipment and machinery; staging equipment for drivers; performing routine safety checks; maintaining an orderly yard; answering customer questions; providing expert advice on equipment selection, operation, and maintenance; supporting team members; and pursuing career growth within the company.
Required Qualifications
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds frequently
- Must be able to work indoors and outdoors when required of the job
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Ability to safely drive and operate multiple types of vehicles and equipment
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel Programs
