Job Summary
Conduct weekly safety inspections, lead morning tailgate meetings, and manage daily yard operations including material inspection, truck traffic monitoring, and production level oversight. Guide employee training, handle client negotiations for metal purchases, and maintain organized work areas while ensuring proper waste disposal and labor coverage. Perform all duties as assigned to support operational goals and back up the General Manager as needed. Requires flexibility for 40+ hours per week including Saturdays.
Required Qualifications
- Must pass a medical, physical and drug test
- Must pass a background check and credit check
- Prior scrap metal experience preferred
- Ability to communicate with others effectively, understand direction (written or oral) and use basic math skills as the job demands
- An understanding of the metal market well enough to negotiate pricing, delivery process and production demands
- Possess interpersonal skills to gain support of workforce and clientele when conducting business
- All US applicants must be 18 years of age or older
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred - high school diploma or GED
