Job Summary
CDL Yard Spotter responsible for moving trailers within the yard to loading/unloading locations, perform pre-trip inspections on spotter trucks, track trailer positions and yard movements, coordinate with warehouse and operations teams, maintain yard cleanliness, report equipment issues or safety concerns, and follow all company policies including safety, conduct, drug/alcohol, EEO, and no-smoking policies. Requires High School diploma or GED, Class A CDL, DOT Medical Card, FMCSA Clearinghouse compliance, clean driving record, and 3+ years of yard spotter or CDL experience, plus ability to work outdoors, lift up to 25 lbs, and availability for 12-hour day or night shifts including weekends.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Current and valid DOT Medical Card
- Active compliance with the DOT FMCSA Clearinghouse
- Clean driving record with a history of safe operations
- Successful completion of a pre-employment background check and drug screen
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a yard spotter or similar CDL role strongly preferred
- Proficiency in operating yard tractors in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Capable of lifting up to 25 lbs and performing physical tasks associated with the role
- Availability for 12-hour day or night shifts, including weekends
