Job Summary
Yard Receiver/Stocker responsible for unloading deliveries, verifying shipment contents against purchase orders, and organizing stock in designated storage areas to maintain inventory accuracy. Collaborates with warehouse and logistics teams to support timely order fulfillment, inspect goods for damage or discrepancies, maintain yard cleanliness, and assist with inventory counts. Requires operating material handling equipment (forklifts/pallet jacks), basic math/reading for documentation, physical endurance for heavy items, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols. Preferred candidates have prior warehouse/yard experience, forklift certification or training, familiarity with warehouse management software, and the ability to work flexible hours including weekends to meet operational needs.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to safely operate material handling equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks (certification preferred or willingness to obtain)
- Basic math and reading skills to verify shipment documentation and inventory records
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy items regularly and work in various weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to following safety procedures
- Familiarity with inventory management systems or warehouse management software
- Good communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and supervisors
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or overtime, as operational needs require
