Job Summary
Maintain the yard, build loads, and load/unload material while organizing product to supply the plant using a forklift. Operate machinery to stack and organize lumber, inspect wood for defects, and safely load trusses onto trucks for delivery. Remove trusses from racks, relocate them for staging, build packages, and prepare for delivery. Unload vendor deliveries, audit packing slips, and maintain inventory control accuracy. Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow, adhere to safety protocols, and keep the work area clean. Regular attendance including overtime is required. High school diploma, forklift training, and ability to read measuring tapes are needed.
Required Qualifications
- Experience operating a Tow Motor
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read a measuring tape
- Ability to recognize size grade and quality of material
- Ability to drive a forklift with onsite training
- Strong ability to work effectively with diverse individuals from management to floor employees
- Strong communication skills, reasoning, and mathematical skills
- Regular and punctual attendance
- Ability to work overtime
- Extensive mobility and ease including walking, sitting, standing, bending, talking, hearing, seeing, and using hands to operate tools
- Frequent and repetitive lifting of 25lbs
- Occasional lifting or moving up to 60lbs
